Sam Fifer has been involved in photography for over 10 years. Starting out with film in the late '70's, he developed his love for the art. Life came calling and he had to put down the camera for several years while going to school to peruse a career in computer programming.

After he was done with school, he got a digital camera and immediately became re-ignited with the art and the flexibility the digital world offered over traditional film.

Sam continues his passion today, working hard to keep up on the latest trends and techniques for both the camera and post processing. Sam will do his best to give you high quality photos at reasonable rates.

Sam's wife, Christine also helps out on most of the shoots. Although she has not been shooting as long as Sam, her intuitive sense of composition rivals other more 'seasoned' photographers.

Natural Light Photography

Natural light photography refers to using all natural light. Using reflectors and filters to put the light where it needs to be and at the correct levels. The best time to use natural light is early in the morning (1-2 hours after sunrise), or later in the day (1-2 hours before sunset). Some times, flashes are used to enhance the subject, but this is left as a last resort. Natural lighting is what Fifer Photography relies on first in all shoots and therefore on location shots are preferred.

Artificial Lighting

Artificial lighting refers to using small flashes or studio strobes (any artificial light source) to illuminate the subject. Fifer Photography has the expertise to make the best out of these light sources, whether it be in the studio, or on location.
